L’evoluzione dei modelli organizzativi e delle tecniche mini-invasive di chirurgia, consente oggi l’erogazione di interventi
in setting assistenziali diversi da quelli usuali di ricovero ospedaliero tradizionale. Oltre alla One Day Surgery ed alla Day Surgery propriamente detta, sviluppo notevole anche in Italia, ha la chirurgia ambulatoriale. Gli autori affrontano il tema del flusso informativo che dovrebbe essere specificatamente dedicato a questa attività chirurgica, in analogia a quello della Scheda di Dimissione Ospedaliera, utilizzando tre casi esemplari: la chirurgia del tunnel carpale (DRG 006), del cristallino (DRG 039) e della legatura/stripping delle vene varicose (DRG 119).

The evolution of organizational models and techniques in minimally invasive surgery, now enables the delivery of interventions in healthcare settings other than the usual traditional hospitalization as inpatient. In addition to the One
Day Surgery and Day Surgery itself, also in Italy we register a remarkable development of outpatient surgery (ambulatory care setting). The authors address the issue of the information flow that should be specifically dedicated to this surgical activity, similar to that of the Hospital Discharge Data, using three case studies: the carpal tunnel surgery (DRG 006), the lens surgery (DRG 039) and the ligation/stripping of varicose veins (DRG 119).
